I am an attorney qualified in Italy and in the State of New York, specialized in international business law and litigation. Beside private practice, I research and teach comparative law at the University of Florence. I joined AIJA in 2015 at the AC in London and quickly sensed what a life-changing association it is, forming deep bonds with friends all around the world and enriching our personal and professional lives. In AIJA I helped organizing the 2018 Tax Seminar in Florence and more recently was a speaker at the 2023 HYC in Den Haag. I am happily married with Chiara and love playing music, cooking and the sea. Now, with your support, I wish to give back something to our one-of-a-kind association by joining the EC.

Through subsequent seminars and conferences, Felix came to realise the remarkable impact of AIJA – not only did it enhance his professional prospects, but it also facilitated the cultivation of global friendships. The joy of hosting guests in Germany and experiencing gracious hospitality abroad has been immensely rewarding. Engagements as a speaker (as seen in Lausanne and Recife) and his role as a moderator have provided substantial gratification. In his personal life, he is a father to two daughters and two bonus girls, and he is happily living with Kathi close to the Alps in the South of Germany. The Extraordinary General Assembly of our association will be convened for the amendment of our Articles of Association (also known as Statutes or By-Laws). Please find here the proposed amended version of the Articles of the Association in English and French, along with the proxy form.

The first call to the Extraordinary General Assembly is scheduled for 4 August 2023. In case the quorum of 2/3 of individual members, required by the Articles of Association, would not be satisfied at the first Extraordinary General Assembly, a second Extraordinary General Assembly will be scheduled for 25 August 2023, the same date as the Ordinary General Assembly during our Annual Congress in Rio. You will all receive a specific second convening notice for that purpose in the presumed case the first meeting will not reach the required quorum.

The commitment of each member is crucial to the success of the whole organisation. And nowhere is this more evident than during our annual elections.

Once a year at the Annual Congress, the General Assembly of Members is called to elect some members of two very important bodies for the management of AIJA: the Executive Committee and the Bureau. In previous years this had to be done on paper, in person. But early in 2016, when AIJA launched an extensive online survey, members called for a stronger and more effective participation in the life of the association and in particular an e-voting system.

AIJA welcomed e-voting for the first time in 2018 and due to its resounding success the Association has been using it since then.

How AIJA members can vote

Electronic voting is easy – AIJA members can vote from any location, on any device. Members will receive in advance a link where they can join and watch the General Assembly and then vote electronically.

If AIJA members are not available to vote electronically during the elections date, they can give a proxy to another member. Instructions are available on the MyAIJA member dashboard.
